The DRS-501 universal DVD receiver is shaping up as one of those classic Onkyo A/V products that blend A/V perfection with style and sublime construction.
With obvious leanings towards high-definition entertainment, the DRS-501 incorporates High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) for sending upscaled DVD videos to HD-compatible (720p/1080i) displays. Working with a 2.1-channel speaker set-up, the system recreates the multichannel surround experience through Onkyo's virtual surround sound technology, Theatre Dimensional.
On another front, it gives you a stack of music options, from MP3s right through to the audiophile quality of DVD Audio and Super Audio CD. Pair the DRS-501 up with your favourite pair of speakers and a subwoofer and you have a very unique, stylish and high performing entertainment system.
