Now Playing at 18 St Marks Road!

We love music at Avalon Audio and be assured if you visit Bharat and Steve at 18 St Marks Road there will be nice sounds coming out of a set of speakers somewhere in the store.
At the moment we are putting the Onkyo LS-V501 2.1 Channel complete home theatre system through its paces. And what are we using to test its mettle? Lots of stuff but if you visit over the next week or two Billy Idol will be in action. Billy was never everyone's cup of tea, but when I look at this guy now I can not help thinking that Robbie Williams owes him 'millions'. Why? Robbie among other things is a bit of a clown on stage, he just loves to play the joker. Have a good look at Billy Idol on the Storytellers DVD and you get the vibe that Robbie has watched Billy a fair bit over the years.
The Storytellers DVD is a breezy affair that brings back a blast from the past. Billy's trademark snarls, howls and sneers are all there, but the refreshing thing about this DVD is a mellow, relaxed, middle-aged Billy. The real added value of this DVD a close up of Steve Stevens on guitar, the two deliver a very easy listening session probably because more than half the show is performed semi-acoustically; it's a surprise to hear the likes of "White Wedding" and "Rebel Yell" played as acoustic duets, but its not a sleepy affair as you will hear Stevens lights up his electric for "Dancing with Myself," "Mony Mony," and "Blue Highway".
Also look out for "Rebel Yell" complete with interesting wee yarn about how and why Billy wrote the song.
And the Onkyo LS-V501…how can you see or learn more? Firstly you can check it out here on our website; better still Bharat is waiting now to demo how good Billy sounds on this little beauty. It is a fantastic 'all rounder' that never ceases to blow us away with its ability to sound much more powerful than its specification indicates. I make no promise but if you buy one off Bharat this month he may even give you his Billy Idol DVD!
