KEF's 3000 Series has a completely overhauled and groundbreaking Uni-Q driver array. Unlike conventional speakers that force you to sit in a small area of the room to enjoy an immersive surround sound experience, the Uni-Q drivers offer a much larger 'sweet spot'. The overhauled drivers in the 3000 Series create KEF's biggest sweet spot ever and have been described as 'sit anywhere' speakers.
The new 115mm Uni-Q driver has an improved magnet system that delivers heftier bass by allowing greater movement of the speaker cone. Meanwhile, reinforced radial ribs on the midrange cone improve its rigidity and deliver cleaner vocal effects.
Unlike most speaker systems, the centre speaker is not just a satellite flipped on its side. Because a centre speaker carries up to 60% of the sound, KEF have given it some special attention. It's armed with the new Uni-Q array plus two 75mm bass drivers on its back. This gives it awesome power.
The HTB2 powered subwoofer has a 250-watt onboard power amp to drive its 250mm bass unit. Output is fully adjustable for phase, frequency and level to prevent hum. There's even a 'cinema' setting that brings punchier bass to the party. Overall, the bass is as forceful as it is precise.
N.B. The KHT3005 is now only available in silver. The KHT3005SE is available in high gloss black.
