Avalon Audio — the future of home audio distribution
Avalon Audio is a specialist distributor of audio products.
Our company was formed in February 2010 as a result of a buyout of the assets of the former publicly listed entity Eastern HiFi Group.
Avalon Audio differs from the former Eastern HiFi Group in as far as it does not operate a chain of specialist home audio retail outlets; instead Avalon Audio is acutely focused on the long-term strategies for the family of brands it proudly distributes in NZ.
The Avalon Audio brand portfolio is based on five brands all recognised as leaders in their respective categories. The cornerstone of the portfolio is Onkyo which at this time is the number one home theatre receiver brand by units in NZ.
The Avalon Audio family of brands is made up of:
- Onkyo and Integra (electronics);
- KEF and Boston Acoustics (loudspeakers);
- Russound (audio distribution);
- Straightwire (cables).
Avalon Audio exists to provide a seamless link for our business partners and the end user customers who demand the best products and after sales service available to them.
Our head office and distribution facility is centrally located in Penrose, Auckland; from where we are able to provide an efficient distribution and support system for our nationwide dealer network. To further enhance our brand portfolio we operate a premium retail showroom in Newmarket, Auckland also called "Avalon Audio." In our showroom we display and fully demonstrate "every single product" we distribute in NZ.
As a specialist home audio distribution company we commit to four simple but vital factors we believe will ensure we continually provide quality support to our business partners. The four factors are:
1. Support
The New Zealand market is one of the worlds most remote being a long distance from our overseas suppliers and factories, therefore it is fundamental to our success as a distributor that we provide strong local support to ensure a healthy and loyal following for our family of brands.
2. Communication
Avalon Audio is an organisation that will respond to business partners quickly and clearly. We ensure we remain informed of what every one of our business partners expects from us and in turn we are clear what our expectations also are.
3. Business Efficiency
Our commitment is to provide an efficient service which includes the efficient delivery of quality products that are competitively priced. We at Avalon Audio consider ourselves as a lean and efficient business. There is no place in brand distribution for greedy distributors demanding unrealistic margins at the expense of developing their market.
4. Passion
We strive to be recognised as the best distributor in our field, we are passionate about finding ways to assist our customers to benefit from selling our brands. Furthermore, we are not interested in the "quantity" of customers we deal with; instead we focus on developing and supporting a quality dealer network.
